Solar and fossil fuelled raised steam generator - has ground level mirrors radiating evaporator tubes in glass walled space with fuel burners

The steam generator is intended for a solar power generation unit having heating surfaces arranged in an elevated position on a tower (5) and movable reflecting mirrors arranged at ground level. The heating surfaces consist of steam generator tubes (13) arranged in an annular space (25) between an external glass wall (22) and an internal insulating layer (23). This space is further heated by means of burners (20) using fossil fuel. The space serving as passage for the flue gas is pref. connected with a chimney (7). The passage may contain dampers (24). Feed water pre-heaters (17) and steam superheaters (19) may be arranged at the bottom of the chimney, and connected via a feed water valve (16) and steam valve (18) with the feed water line (10) and the steam line (8) respectively.
