<p>The pneumatic suction-and-pressure conveyor delivers silage from a tall silo via a rigid or telescopic pipe to a cyclone at the end of the pressure section, the cyclone having an open bottom and an air-permeable cover at the top. An auxiliary air opening (8) is mounted in the suction portion of the pipe (1) before the blower (4). Typically, it can be an auxiliary air spout discharging into the suction pipe, and with an opening adjustable for width. In systems with long discharge pipes, and partic. when handling maize, the pipes tend to choke up, due to the silage cutter at times delivering more than the blower can handle. The design allows enough air to be drawn in by the blower to prevent this happening.</p> |
