<p>The Morse-code converter for direction finding receivers consists of a signal processing stage fed from the LF output of a receiver (1). A control stage comprises a mark and space channel (3, 4) connected to a symbol counter (6) and bit processor (7). The processor is connected to a three-stage buffer store (8), each stage having three sections (A, B, C). The output buffer is connected to an output unit (14) which drives a display (15). The display is capable of indicating all three letters of the indentification call-sign of a DF beacon transmitter. The individual letters are displayed via a 35 dot matrix of light-emitting diodes. ASCII code is used throughout the data processing stages and the complete decoder can be constructed from integrated circuits or microprocessors.</p> |
