<p>Novel substituted phenylacetonitriles of the formula <IMAGE> in which R denotes alkyl having 1 to 4 C atoms, and R' denotes alkyl having 1 to 4 C atoms, cycloalkyl having 5 to 7 C ring atoms, which is optionally substituted by alkyl having 1 to 4 C atoms, the benzyl group, or a benzyl group which is substituted by bromine or chlorine or the group -COOR1, in which R1 has the said meaning of R, are prepared. These compounds are obtained by reacting a corresponding alkali metal 3-carbalkoxyphenylcyanoacetic ester with agents which introduce the radical R' at temperatures of between 70 and 150 DEG C. The compounds which are obtained can be used as intermediates for preparing pharmacologically active compounds.</p> |
