Composite push button switch operating several contacts - converts linear movement of push button stem into rotary motion at entry in housing

A composite pushbutton switch is used. It can be used to operate several contacts simultaneously in, e.g. a telephone or other telecommunication systems. It is possible to activate several circuits merely by depressing the pushbutton. The linear movement produced by depressing the pushbutton is converted into a rotary motion. The stem of the switch is thread shaped and has a large pitch with a series of cams. The shaft (1) is fed through a specially shaped entry (4) in the housing (2). The pushbutton is spring loaded and there are stops to restrict the travel in either direction.
