A system is used for measuring the load and load proportional operating characteristics and time for I.C. engines by using the temperature of the exhaust gases. The operating time results from digitally integrating the temperature signal. The temperature is measured with a temperature signal. The temperature is measured with a temperature transducer fitted in the exhaust system and converted into an electrical signal. The signal is passed through a circuit containing an amplifier, a voltage to frequency converter and a digital counter to be connected to indicators which indicate engine load, time and operating characteristics. Knowledge of this data can be used to improve maintenance and increase the engine life cycle.
