2-Cyanoamino-4,6-bis-alkyl(dialkyl)amino-sym.-triazines of the general formula I <IMAGE> in which R represents hydrogen or alkyl and R' represents alkyl, are obtained by reacting trimethyl-[4,6-bis-alkyl(dialkyl)amino-sym.triazin-2-yl]ammonium chloride with acidic sodium or calcium salts of cyanamide. The abovementioned compounds are new developments and can be used as starting substances for the preparation of biologically active compounds from the triazine series.
