High impact polyamide-6 compsns. - contg. ethylene!-(meth)acrylic! acid-(meth)acrylic! ester! copolymer, gives transparent films

High impact thermplastic moulding materials comprise (a) 70-96 wt. % polyamide-6 with a relative viscosity >=3.5; and (b) 4-30 wt. % of >=1 terpolymer of (i) 50-95 wt. % ethylene, (ii) 1-20 wt. % (meth)acrylic acid which is opt. completely or partially converted into salt form, and (iii) 1-30 wt. % of >=1 1-9 C ester of (meth)acrylic acid, with a melt index of 2-15 g/10 min. The terpolymer additives have good compatibility with the polyamide-6 material and give tough, heat-resistant, solvent-resistant, flexible mouldings which have a high impact strength even in the dry state. The prods. have excellent processing properties and can be injection moulded, extruded into films. etc. The additives are so compatible with the polyamide that films 10-70 mu thick are transparent.
