<p>Prostaglandin analogues of formula (I) and specified intermediates are new. In the formula one of R1 and R2 is H and the other is OH, or R1+R2=o; R3 is H, 1-8C aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbyl, 3-10C alkoxyalkyl, 7-9C araliphatic hydrocarbyl or a metal or opt. substd. ammonium ion,R4 is a 1-10C aliphatic of 3-7C cycloaliphatic gp. opt. substd. by (a) 1-7C opt. unsatd. alkoxy or alkylthio, (b) phenoxy opt. mono or disubstd. by 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C haloalkyl, halogen phenoxy, halophenoxy and/or 1-4C alkoxy, (c) furyloxy, thienyl or benzyloxy, each opt. mono- or di-substd. by 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C haloalkyl and/or 1-4C alkoxy, (d) 1 or 2 F atoms, a CF3 gp. or a C2F5 gp. (e) 3-7C cycloalkyl or (f) a phenyl, thienyl or furyl gp. opt. mono or disubstd. by 1-3C alkyl, 103C haloalkyl, halogen and/or 1-4C alkoxy, R5 is H, 1-5C alkyl or 2-5C alkenyl or alkynyl, R6 is R7CO; R7 is H or 1-10C alkyl, A is trans-CH=CH or CH2CH2. Cpds. (I) are spasmogenic agents, bronchodilators, gastic secretion inhibitors, luteolytic agents, abortive agents and esp. hypotensive. A typical cpd. (I) is methyl-9-oxo-16-hydroxy-20-homo-2,14-prostadienoate.</p> |
