Component C serves to prevent cracking of the coating when the latter is subject to abrupt deformation, this component is suitably a plasticiser-type ester, e.g. dioctyl adipate, dioctyl sebacate, dioctyl phthalate or triphenyl phosphate. The metal substrate may be primed with a conventional primer or with a composition as defined above containing a corrosion-resistant pigment. The top-coating compositions may be pigmented, and may also be applied to other substrates, e.g. wood, plastics, films, glass and ceramics.</p> |
