The phosphorus is made by wet grinding in a ball mill with small glass balls. The product is then filtered in a rotating drum filter, scraped off and delivered into a rotating piston pump which delivers the product into the drier. Alternatively a screw pump can be used. The rotary piston pump clearances can be up to 3 mm., but pref. 1 mm.
