The glass tumblers or bottles are aligned in the packaging carton. Its spaced long sides have apertures, through which the bottles etc. protrude. The spacing of the carton long sides is greater than the largest dia. of bottles to be packed. The apertures match the bottle curvatures. The solid side parts hide the bottles inside the carton. The solid areas of the carton long sides are transversely offset relative the apertured areas in such manner that they are located at a spacing from the long symmetry plane of the packaged bottles etc., which is at least equal to the greatest radius of the bottles. Pref. the carton consists of a blank with appropriate cut-outs and folding lines.
