The lifting platforms for a vehicle carried on a strut support, and its position is controlled by a hydraulic ram (2). Pressure fluid flow to the ram is controlled by a push button and electro valve. The piston is double acting and has two end discs (23, 24) fixed to a central disc (21) by thrust washers (20, 22). Each end disc has an axial flange turned to the pressure side.
