1,246,600. Harvester discharge. SPERRY RAND CORP. 26 Aug., 1970 [27 Aug., 1969], No. 41021/70. Heading A1F. An assembly for the controlled discharge of a harvester of maize and the like comprises a duct 17, leading from the crop-gathering means 16, and a spout 18 which guides the crop into a trailer 12. An extension 17b of the duct 17 slides rotatably inside an extension 18a of the spout 18, the extensions both having flanges 24, 26, respectively, welded to them. The lower flange 24 has many notches 46 while the upper flange 26 has four notches 45. A collar made of two ports 31, 32 slides snugly on the extension 18a and carries a handle 19 so that it is rotatable in a vertical plane. The handle carries a triangular plate 47 which engages the notches 45, 46. The tractor driver, from seat 21, may lift handle 19 so that the plate 47 clears only the notches 45 and then rotate the spout about a vertical axis to the desired position whereupon the handle is lowered so that the plate 47 engages a new notch 46. By lifting the handle 19 higher both sets of notches may be cleared and a new notch 45 selected by the operator. |
