The grooved rod-like element may be made by bonding crimped continuous filaments of cellulose acetate with glyceryl triacetate. As shown element 2 may have four symmetrically disposed grooves 4 extending axially from one end while the other 6 remains ungrooved. The grooved end is closer to tobacco rod 8 so as to present end 6 to the smoker. Paper 10 and overwrap 12 enclose tobacco and filter respectively. |
