1512020 Castors A K STAAL 24 Nov 1975 [25 Nov 1974] 50889/74 Heading A4U [Also in Division B8] A wheel assembly for a suitcase comprises a casing 10 housing a castor including a wheel fork 14 rotatably carried by a block 17 having a slot 23 pivotally engaging a pin 22 fixed in the casing, the block 17 being biased upwardly by a tension spring 26 and being manually moveable between its position shown in Fig. 3 in which the castor extends from the casing and its position shown in Fig. 2 in which the castor is retracted into the casing. In the extended position of the castor a face 20 of the block 17 is slidably engaged with the casing endwall 21 and a shoulder 34 engages ribs 35 on the casing and in its retracted position the fork 14 engages the ends of ribs 28 and 29 on the casing. Projections 30 on the casing co-operate with the casing end-wall 21 to engage a square portion 15 of the fork 14 and retain it in any selected one of perpendicularly inter-related positions. |
