<p>The identity plate for a dangerous tanker load has two sets of numbers which identify the fluid carried. The fluids in the same chemical family have similar numbers and are covered by having the last numerals indicated by sliders and windows. The plate enables a fuel tanker to carry different types of fuel on different journeys simply by altering the slider, or a rotating plate. The identity plate does not have to be removed and can be fitted permanently to the vehicle.</p> |
