<p>The distributor mechanism discharges piece goods from one conveyor, by means of conveyor chains, to another conveyor at right angles. As these chains are driven, their movement is transmitted to a system of levers, which lift them so as to engage against the underside of the items (2). Only a single motor need be used for the discharge operation, and one of the chains (4) can have stops (14) fixed to it, so as to act as a barrier for the goods travelling along the main conveyor. All chains (3, 4) can run over common shafts and sprockets, the halting and discharge operation being carried out by a single drive. Discharge can be at an angle of 90 deg. to the main conveyor. One chain can have slides on it for the automatic common lifting movement, actuated by a shoe sliding underneath them. The slides can be of hard plastic or metal, and in roller form.</p> |
