<p>A smoker's pipe, fitted with a briar bowl (3) has a plastics stem (2) including the cup shaped part (2a) under the bowl. To prevent damage to those inside the stem and a cup shaped plate (5) underneath the bowl. An externally threaded tube connection (5a) extends sideways from the cup shaped plate, onto which the internally threaded end of the metal tube screws. The cup shaped plate has a flange (5b) around the top, projecting outwards to locate against a shoulder (6) around the base of the bowl. Between the cup shaped plate (5) and the bottom of the bowl is a space (11) forming a condensation chamber.</p> |
