<p>A two-winged door for a horizontal drum, e.g. the drum for hide and skin tanning, has wings which can be swivelled in opposite radial directions to load or unload the drum. The pivot of each wing is fitted with a short fixed link and the free ends of these links are joined by a tie rod. This compensates the weight of the door wings and does not limit the size of the openings of horizontal drums. The operator now has to overcome merely the frictional resistance to move the doors.</p> |
