A central heating boiler has a combustion chamber (1) with an outlet (12) one end, above the burner (2) discharging into a chamber (6) containing the vertical water tubes (13, 14, 15). These are flat in section, joined together by fins. They are in several rows, with each tube staggered from the tube each side. They are made of special steel, copper or aluminium. The hot gases (7) circulate between the rows, leaving by a flue (8) at the top of the side opposite to the entry point (12). The end tubes nearest the burner are of corrosion resistant metal and externally are made of non alloyed steel. They also extend beyond the intermediate rows of tubes so as to form water cooled sides for the combustion chamber leaving hot gas circulation spaces (6).
|
