Gas solid cylindrical reactor - having disengagement zone formed by dip pipe down which solids flow to form cone

Moving bed reactor has the gas inlet and outlets above cones of the solid material formed by dip pipes into the vessel. The upper dip pipe is fed to some depth inside the vessel to create a gas collection zone. Similarly the bed vessel is led to some depth in the gas inlet vessel to create a crude gas dispersion zone. Used for carrying out gas solid reactions e.g. for hot gas purificn. by adsorption etc. Process operates continuously in counter-current and requires no extra separation surfaces such as porous sieves, perforated plates sintered plates to separate the solids from the gas stream.
