Automatic fitting snow grips for car - has grip bands stored in magazines near wheels and provided with automatic clasps to join ends

The car is fitted with special snow grip tracks which are stored as open bands in magazine racks near the wheels, or spaced about the car. The leading edge of each band is directed at a wheel. The bands are fitted with self fitting clamps to grip the wheels and complete the chain about the wheel. To fit the chains, the magazines are opened by remote control and the car slowly driven while the chains are fed under the wheels. As the chains complete the circuit of each wheel the automatic clamps close. To remove the chains the vehicle is reversed so that release catches open the clasps and return the chains to the magazines.
