Fruit or vegetable cutter and shredder is designed to cut up the produce into small pieces by using a set of vertically arranged blades (17) positioned uniformly about a vertical axis. Each blade comprises a V-shaped part of which there are e.g four positioned with their apexes back to back. The angle between the two limbs of each blade is approx. equal to the angle between the neighbouring limbs of two blades arranged next to one another in the circumferential direction. The angle is approx. 45 deg.. The blades when in operation pass through suitably shaped slits (18) in a cup-shaped part which strips off the cut produce from the blades on the return stroke.
