<p>The cylinder consists of wires or bars (1) with spaces in between them narrow enough for the chips not to fall out. The casing of the cylinder consists wholly or partly of bars enabling the potato chips to turn during rotation of the cylinder. Alternatively, the casing may be of wire mesh. The cylinder casing material is resistant to corrosion and heat. At one or both ends of the cylinder is an axle (4) for rotating the cylinder by hand by means of a crank or the electric motor. The axle (4) is mounted in slots in the disc-ends of the cylinder or in the housing (3) surrounding it. Underneath or to one side of the cylinder (1) is a heating coil (2).</p> |
