A UV-curable, liquid coating compsn. comprises (A) a polyethylenically unsatd. ester of an alpha, beta-ethylenically unsatd. acid and a polyhydric alcohol and (N) effective photopolymerising amts. of (1) a tert. aliphatic amine and (2) a phenacyl acetate of formula (where R is 1-7C alkyl, X is H or 1-8C alkyl, and Y and Z are H, 1-8 C alkyl, 1-8C alkoxy, halogen or phenyl). For coating printing paper, cardboard, boxboard, wood, metal, textiles, plastics, etc. The compsn. upon exposure to UV radiation can be rapidly cured to give a mar-resistant coating. |
