A sealing profile of elastic deformable material is used for connection of hollow profiles such as pipes which, at their abutting ends, have locations to take the sealing profile. On the counterposed outer surface (2, 3) of a core profile, several lengthways running narrow tooth ribs (4, 5) are formed as a one-piece construction, the central line of the ribs being counterwise inclined to the vertical. The core profile (1) has a rectangular cross section, and the tooth ribs (4, 5) are arranged on both broad sides (2, 3). Alternatively, the core profile (1) can have a lengthways trapezoidal cross-section. The tooth ribs (4, 5) have the shape of inclined wedges, the central lines of which are inclined to the vertical at an angle of approx. 45 deg..
