The front section of the freighter has a divided shape with a controlled air cushion under the hull to reduce the draught. The rear section of the hull has flexible walls to reduce the drag and to allow an air bubble blanket to flow over the hull. The ship can be beached without requiring any quays. The system can be used for a roll-on-roll-off types of ships for third world countries. It can be applied for large hulls and lifts the front section higher in the water. For normal travel the front section has the same draught as the rear section.
