Safety system for tipper lorry - has level sensitive switch to block flow from pump to tipping cylinder and open return line with restrictor

The lorry body is tipped by means of a hydraulic cylinder. The pressure pipe to the cylinder contains a regulator slide with a fluid flow check position which stops the fluid flow from pump to cylinder and allows the cylinder fluid to flow back via a restrictor to the fluid reservoir. The regulator slide positions are controlled by a magnetic switch connected to a levelling switch attached to the vehicle chassis. The switch is sensitive to level variations and located close to the tipping axis. The switch can be of a pendulum type or mercury, able to close a circuit between the magnetic switch and a supply source as soon as the vehicle starts to tilt sideways.
