Cast framework for forging press - has hollow columns with coolant flow channels to remove heat generated by friction or radiated

The framework is built up from four cast columns (1, 2, 3, 4) of approx. 'L' shaped section which are connected together. Channels (5) are cast in the corners of the section, which run part of the length of the columns. In- and outlet connections are mounted on the channels so that a coolant medium can be passed through the columns. The channels extend over the area over which the hammers of the forging press are guided.
