<p>1512185 Mixtures of phosphonic acid salts and ester salts HOESCHT AG 22 April 1976 [24 April 1975] 16346/76 Heading C2P [Also in Divisions C5 D1 and G1] Aqueous solutions (stated to be novel) of mixtures of phosphonic acid salts of Formula I with phosphonic acid half-ester salts of Formula II in a molar ratio of from 19 : 1 to 5 : 1 are prepared by reacting one mole of an alkanephosphonic acid of Formula III with 0À05 to 0À2 mole of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide at 120 to 180‹ C. and neutralizing the product in water to a pH of 6 to 8 with an alkali hydroxide. The acids of Formula III can be obtained by hydrolysis of their esters which can in turn be obtained by the addition of olefines to dialkyl phosphites. In the formulae, R represents a straight-chain alkyl group of 6 to 12 carbon atoms, R<SP>1</SP> represents hydrogen or methyl and M represents Li, Na or K.</p> |
