<p>A simple, economic, mass produced furniture castor is prepared from plastic mouldings for the two half shells which make up the wheel section and a plastic extrusion (1) for the support housing. The extrusion has two profiled holes (3, 4) through its length. It is cut to the required length and the spindle shaft of the castor mounting is fitted into the smaller, circular hole (3). The axle linking the two wheel halves is bored through the side of the housing across the larger hole. This larger cavity also serves to locate any wheel brake is required.</p> |
