PRINTING PLATE AND ITS PRODUCTION

Printing plate, esp. for newspapers, is produced by (a) preparing a moulding material consisting of a synthetic resin contg. a dispersed seed forming agent, (b) supplying this moulding material in a molten state to a split between a paper matrix and an impression device, esp. a cylinder in order to press the molten moulding material against the paper matrix to form a plate with a relief and (c) hardening the plate by cooling. High prodn. rate e.g. to plates per minute, using cheap paper matrixes. Reliable reproduction of print details, the seed forming agent ensures a high hardening temp. for the synthetic resin and rapid cooling of the printing plate.
