IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR FOR ROTARY INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

An ignition distributor for rotary internal combustion engines which simultaneously directs the ignition spark energy produced by respective ignition coils to the leading and trailing spark plugs of the same combustion chamber of the engine. Two electrically conductive members mounted upon a rotatable member, rotated in timed relationship with the engine, are passed in arc-gap relationship with a leading spark plug ignition spark energy input terminal, a trailing spark plug ignition spark plug energy input terminal and each of the leading and trailing spark plug output terminals. The electrically conductive members are so located upon the rotatable member that while either is in arc-gap relationship with one of the ingnition spark energy input terminals the other is in arc-gap relationship with the other one of the ignition spark energy input terminals.
