The suspension is intended for a vehicle wheel (3) in which the hub (1) of the wheel axle (2) is connected to the vehicle frame (6) via at least one spring (7). The hub is provided with two arms (4, 5) of which one (4) is connected to the frame via a pivot (10), whilst the other (5) is connected to the frame via an air spring (7). Inside the air spring (7) there may be an auxiliary spring which may be of the diabolo type. The arm (5) may be cranked or curved.
