The external surface of a wall a great height is thermally insulated, the novelty being (a) the use of foamed phenolic resin panels, 3-8cm. thick and density 40-80kg/m3; (b) the panels are fixed on the wall by an adhesive and pegs made of a thermal insulant; (c) the outer surface of the panels is given an undercoat in which the glass mat is inserted, then an outer coat. When the wall is to be painted, the adhesive is pref. an acrylic; 3-7 pegs are used per m2 of panel; and silicone paper is pref. used on the joints between the panels before the undercoat, which is pref. an acrylic. The insulation is esp. for use on walls with a height >6 meters, using high strength panels with thermal conductivity 0.032-0.036kcal/m.h. degrees C.
|
