<p>A stable, flexible and transparent prod. for moulding, based on a copolyetheramide, is obtd. by the reaction of a linear aliphatic polyamide with carboxylic chain ends, of molecular wt. 500-17000, with a bis-(3-aminopropoxy)alkane or a bis-(3-aminopropoxy)polyalkylene oxide with molecular wt. 175-400. The prod. has an inherent viscosity of 0.8-1.5; a Vicat point of 100-200 degrees C, and a modulus of torsion G (according to the method of Clash and Berg) of 800-2000 kg/cm2 at 20 degrees C. The copolyetheramide prod. is used to make moulded objects, hollow bodies, plates and film. This copolyetheramide combines both chemical stability and satisfactory mechanical properties.</p> |
