<p>The device loads cylindrical tubes or bobbins on to support mandrels on high speed winding machines. It consists of a flexible sleeve or muff having a rigid element, which can be turned around its longitudinal axis, fixed along the length of the sleeve. Before loading the bobbin, the rotation of this rigid element effects the locking of the sleeve on the bobbin to hols it in position. After loading, the rotation of the rigid element in the opposite direction effects the unblocking of the sleeve, and the release of the bobbin. The device is capable of loading >=2 bobbins at once. It provides a simpler construction than known devices in use. An operator may load the bobbins on high speed winders, without the risk of burns by rubbing, or other injuries caused by the fast-turning rollers of the machine. Such rollers are not normally stopped during bobbin changes.</p> |
