The platform hand positioning lever is mounted on an axis adjacent to the line of application of the platform at the quay. The lever has a sheath carrying a tube fitted with handle. A return spring is fitted on an auxiliary spindle which runs parallel to the tube. The auxiliary rod is guided with adequate play into two sleeves each placed at the end of the sleeve in a ring adjacent to the rotational axis of the sheath. The platform is fitted with an opening near its support edge to take the auxiliary rod.
