<p>Cellulosic material, especially cotton and viscose rayon, is dyed with direct dyestuffs, or treated with optical brighteners, in liquid NH3. The dyeing is preferably carried out at the b.p. for 5 sec-10 min, and may be done by a continuous Foulard process. Dyeing rates are considerably accelerated. The effect is limited to the fibres and compounds described stretching during the process improves resistance and shrink-resistance.</p> |
