Treatment of dyeing effluents - by oxygenation, electrolysis flocculation, separation and filtration, to yield a solvent suitable for further dyeing

An aq. solvent suitable for dye liquors for textiles is prepd. from effluent from previous dyeing processes. The effluent is collected, oxygenated and introduced into an electrolysis vat. An electric current is fed to a soluble metal anode which forms a flocculent metal hydroxide, suitable for adsorbing impurities contained in the effluent. The treated effluent is fed to a decantation filter which separates the flocculate from the liquid phase. The liquid phase is now ready to receive fresh dyes to effect a further dyeing process. The method provides an aq. solvent for improving dyeing quality. It avoids the wastage of used dye liquors, and provides a process and installation for dyeing textiles in closed circuit, without producing significant quantities of effluent.
