<p>A bend-stressed hollow reinforced-concrete slab has flat reinforcing units lying in the continuous layers of concrete. There are hooked loop shackles in the cross arms between the filler units, serving as thrust reinforcement. The hooks on these grip the distributor rods (4a) lying at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the filler units. The distributor rods lie closer to the external surface of the concrete than the rods of the tension reinforcement. The filler units, sited between distributor rods and hooked stirrups lie in a non-displaceable setting, so that the reinforcement rods are firmly joined to the formwork, with the concrete covering maintained in position. The interval between filler units and formwork is maintained by spacer units.</p> |
