Leaf spring sorting installation - uses drum with circumferential wall and separating stop to separate springs according to curvature

A sorting installation is for long extending leaf springs bent round their transverse axis with the springs being sorted according to their degree of curvature. The installation includes at least one drum (120) with a circumferential wall (121) to take unsorted leaf springs turnable round its mainly horizontal axis. A separating stop is fitted to the inner surface of the circumferential wall which only holds one leaf spring at a time sliding along the convex side of the inner surface of the circumferential wall. A receiving surface is located in front of the separating stop in the direction of drum rotation on to which the held leaf spring falls during further rotation of the drum. From there the spring is transferred to a pick-up system during continued drum rotation.
