<p>An injection appts. for introducing a soln. into a patient comprises a housing with a mounting for fitting an injection ion syringe, and an actuating mechanism for the syringe operated by a compressed fluid together with a connection system between the actuating mechanism and the injection syringe. The pressurised fluid source is pref. mounted in teh handle of the housing, while a regulator controls the pressure of the fluid flowing from the source into the actuating mechanism. Used partic. for injecting a cold soln. into the right chamber of the heart near to the lung artery, in a predetermined quantity during a predetermined time, so that the temp. drop of the blood resulting therefrom can be used to determine the heart delivery rate. The method enables this to be achieved automatically and eliminates variations due to personal factors.</p> |
