The rotary engine with compression boosters has an eccentrically mounted cylindrical rotor with peripheral sealing flanges (9) near the ends, running in grooves in the casing (6). Spring loaded radial blade seals bearing against the rotor face between these flanges close combustion space peripherally. Plungers (8) actuated by cams (10) driven by gearing (7) from the rotor shaft enter combustion space via axial casing passages to minimise former at moment of injection; maximise it during induction phase. Plungers may have non-return valves (11) for increase air inflow. Rotor may have (stub) vanes on part of periphery to accelerate gas flow.
