<p>Poultry feathers are cleaned by washing in >=1 vessels using a liq. dispersing and dissolving agent followed by drying comprises adding to the washing liq. at >=1 stages, >=1 deodorising and/or disinfecting agents which do not affect the physical properties of the feathers. The agents which pref. adhere to the surface of the feathers after drying, pref. comprise 0.0005-0.05% based on the liquid of an aldehyde of formula: RCHO where R is H, 1-4C alkyl, 1-5c mono or dicarboxylic acid radical, -CHO or opt. substd. phenyl. Used to remove blood, excrement and bacteria.</p> |
