Combined radial in-flow and axial flow turbine has radial flow blades (4) and axial flow blades (2) separately connected by suitable roots to a common disc or drum (1). The radial flow blades extend radially outwardly of the axial flow blades and have side shrouds (4) which are integral with outer peripheral shrouds (5) of the axial flow blades. Centrifugal force acting on the side shrouds is therefore taken by the roots of the axial flow blades. This provides for a better lead distribution between the roots of the radial and axial flow blades.
