After correct adjustment, the deflection unit is fastened to the conical part of the TV tube with a foamed adhesive material, which will adhere to the tube and enclose the deflection unit. The deflection unit pref. remains at a distance from the tube, and the foamed material fills the space between. The adhesive material is pref. a silicone rubber or foamed rubber. The filling is done pref. with a hood placed over the adjusted deflection unit to define the space to be filled, and withdrawn afterwards.
