<p>The thermal stability of insulating casings and outer jackets for cables, based on PVC, is determined by placing a sample in a container, holding this for a pre-determined time at 200 plus-or-minus 0.5 degrees C, passing a stream of inert gas through the container and into a vessel filled with distilled water, and measuring the electrical conductivity of the water. The process is automatic and accurate.</p> |
