The diaphragm radial thickness variation corresponds to the equation d = h(ro) (r-c1)/ro-c1) x cos alpha, where d is the diaphragm thickness perpendicular to its surface and h is the projection of d on the diaphragm axis of rotation. ro is the neck radius of the diaphragm cone and r the projection of this radius on a plane perpendicular to the diaphragm axis. c1 is a constant taking into consideration stiffening caused by the coil attached to the diaphragm. x is the exponent of the radial thickness variation; and alpha the angle between the normal to the surface of the diaphragm pointer with the axis of rotation. c1 satisfies Oc1ro and alpha satisfies 0.4alpha1.
